777 Question

Wed May 23, 2001 1:59 am

Has the 777 ever been involved in a crash? Atleast I haven't heard if any.

Raggi,

More facts please. I never heard about this event. Was this a crash? How many died? How many survivors? For those of us out there that don't know all of our airport/airline abbreviations, which airport? Which airline? I did not know a 777 had ever crashed.

Boeing Nut:

An Emerite (is that how you spell it?) 777-300 blew an engine on takeoff before v1, I believe, maybe it did a go-around, but anyways, the engine was to bits and pieces, some blades even went into the fuselage. Try doing a search on this forum, there was a post after it happened.

I think the incident that B767-400er mentioned happened in MEL a couple of months ago...

777 never had a accident, although they have few incident.

The 777 which had a incident was involving a Emirates B777-300 at Melbourne Airport few months ago. The jet was bound for Singapore and Dubai, when the engine explodes. All passengers and crews got out the plane safely.

B767-400er,

Thanks for the info. But as Jiml1126 stated, this was an incident, not an accident/crash. So far, the 777 has not crashed. For the peoples sake, let's hope it never happens. On ANY aircraft.

A B777 crashed yesterday at DFW  Sad

I should have seen it coming, when i was applying the brakes i knew i was already near stall speed. but it was to late already, crashed and burned  Smokin cool

In the future I should study the manual of FS2000 more closely  Big thumbs up
