I cannot confirm this but I think I have seen it in Flight International that the area you are talking about is to house the Air conditioning systems, etc.

Almost certainly seating, for maximum operating economics. There may be a lot more space, even a shop or two. All the other stuff? I doubt it, imagine being on an exercise machine when turbulence hits.
The certification authorities would be very dubious about allowing some of the stuff that's been hyped up.
Besides, haven't we heard all this before, in the early days of the 747 programme?

The funniest thing I heard was about the jacuzzi.

In an aircraft, everything is about weight. You know how much a filled jacuzzi would weigh? And how about turbulance? You have water dripping down through joints causing corrosion. One of the most frequent places where corrosion is found on airplanes is in the lavatories, from the little bit of water splashing from the sink and those of us who can't aim (short barrel perhaps ?

The forehead area you refer to is very small - the cockpit is between the 2 decks, so that space is definitely not standing height. Probably just some equipment there, or a fridge for the pilots  Smile

Catpac is right I believe. All the schematics and drawings I've seen say that is where the "air conditioning plant" is going to be.
