AA Plane's Gear Collapses On Landing

Thu May 24, 2001 6:08 am

I just saw this on the news.

An American Airlines Fokker 100's right landing gear collapsed today at DFW.

It was flight 1107 from Charlotte, NC to DFW.

The gear collapsed on landing, and no reported injuries as of yet.

The Fokker 100 has a reasonable safety record, but it has one not insignificant problem and that is fairly frequent main gear collapses Sad affecting both left and right main gear bogies. This topic has been documented in detail by the Aviation Safety Network. Big thumbs up Below is the link to the full story. Please read it now, as it took me nearly 50 minutes to locate! Pissed
