SQ Will Fly To ORD

Will somebody confirm whether or not it's true that SQ will commence its weekly flight to Chicago ORD from Singapore? If it is, when?

From April 2001 of "SilverKris"

From Aug 1, 2001, Singapore Airlines will launch a 3x weekly B777-200ER service from Singapore to Chicago. This will be SIA's 5th US Gateway, after SFO, LAX, EWR, JFK.

The Chicago flight (SQ036) via Amsterdam will depart SIN every day 135 @ 23.35 and arrive at ORD the next day at 10.05.

The return flight (SQ035) will depart ORD on every day246 @ 19.55 and arrive SIN 2 days later @ 7.00

The B777-200ER will be SIA's latest and most modern aircraft, powered by RR Trent 892 engines and configured in a two-class cabin of 30 Raffles Class seats and 255 Economy seats, the first 2 of 10 B777-200ERs on firm order will be delivered to SIA on 1 July.

9V-SVA, B, C, D etc series ??

hkgspotter yeah these will be 9v-sva series...

though there is many doubts whether sq will be able to gain to the necessary etops.. heard that their 120mins etops is going down the drain with lots of trent failures
