Northwest Airlines

Mon May 28, 2001 4:01 pm

Hi!

I have booked a flight from NWA and could not find fleet info on their website so here come the questions:

How large is their fleet?
Do I get very disappointed flying in their DC10-?? after flying several times with AF in their 777's and A340's? (I think I know the answer  Smile/happy/getting dizzy )

Okay Big grin you may not have your own screen, and the cabin isn't that silent, but the rest of the ride will Rock  Big thumbs up.

Sushka is right they maintain their DC10's excellent, and its always a sensation to fly one.
you will definately not regret it.

Enjoy your trip.

Hmm you might want to delete that line saying TransAtlantic  Big thumbs up doesnt belong there.

NW ownes a total of 45 DC10 30 and 40 models.
of which the 30 model is used for Trans atlantic flights

that cleares it up  Big thumbs up

Jeez!!!

510 planes, not just a small commutercompany eh? I suppose there are bigger airlines than this but still 510 planes is quite a lot.

Well it sure is. Here in Finland our national carrier has a fleet of less than 60 planes and personel of 10000-11000 people. I can only imagine what the numbers are in NW...

Here is the fleet information page- http://www.nwa.com/travel/trave/seatm/ It has the seat layout and it has some specifications. The DC-10 is a good plane but takeoffs can be noisy. They're comfortable and well-maintained. I can't compare them to the A340 and 777, but at least you'll be flying on a DC-10 before they're all retired.

Since he didn't say just jet aircraft, I think that the Saab 340 of Airlink should be included too, as you included the CRJ-200 and RJ-85.

I got it off the NW site and if you want to go look at it all the numbers are right there and your numbers do not match up with theirs. http://ir.nwa.com/ireye/ir_site.zhtml?ticker=NWAC&script=11906&layout=7&item_id='fleet.htm'
