Pan Am Sked Service Update

Mon May 31, 1999 11:27 am

I got some cool news from a PR person at Orlando-Sanford International Aiport recently.

Pan American Airlines (a subsidiary of Guilford Transportation Industries) IS going to start scheduled service between Sanford (which is about 20 min. north of Orlando) and Philadelphia and Portsmouth, NH (Pease International Tradeport formerly Pease Air Force Base). They will also likely add service to Chicago and some cities in Puerto Rico (probably SJU and Aguadilla (BQN) and Ponce (PSE).

The woman told me that if the service is successful they will think about other cities such as EWR.

Pan Am was in talks to by NationsAir Express, a small charter carrier based in Smyrna, GA, after talks with Kiwi broke down when the FAA yanked the latter's certificate. According to my lil Airways airline guide, NationsAir had three 737-200's as of 1997.

Cool, huh?
