Which Is The Longest Flight Operated By 757 & 767

Tue May 29, 2001 3:00 am

I want to know which is the longest flights operated by both 757-200 and 767-200/300/400.

I think that the longest 757-200 flight is MX 1691 :CUN-EZE (about 8.5 hours)

As for 767 I think that Spainair uses it for the MAD-EZE route (13 hours) and I think that UA use them for a while for their HKG operations, I don´t know if UA flew 767 from LAX to HKG because I think the aircraft lacks of range to operate that route.

As for 777 I think is CO : EWR-HKG route

Glasgow - Orlando and Gatwick -Goa are long flights which were at one time operated by 757's. Although with a stop I think. Some of the GLA - Toronto flights operated by 757's must be long flights too.

Ethiopian used to operate BOM-BJS with 757s back in the early 90s. With the airspace restrictions, that could run well over 9 hrs on a bad day.

Icelandair does not fly Miami-Kevlavik. They do fly Orlando-Kevlavik, I think. Finnair flies Miami (actually, Fort Lauderdale)-Helsinki with a 757-200, but with a stop in Bangor, Maine. One of the longest 752 routes is AA's Miami-La Paz (Bolivia) which is about 7 hours. CUN-EZE is 8.55h, one long flight! I just find it wierd that MIA-EZE is 8.30h, though I'm sure equipment has something to do with it.

They did not really fly LAX to HKG non-stop, they are used for HKG-DEL as their round the world flight. I think CP have used it for Vancouver to Hong Kong in around 91/92. By the way, I think someone have a discussion about which is the longest route for 767, have a search.

Occasionally Uzbekistan Airways uses a B757 between Tashkent and London. I realise that's not as long as some of the suggestions, but how long does it take?

Cheers,
Jamie.

Prior to getting A330-200s
I think Canada 3000 did either
Vancouver and/or Calgary to London via Keflavik
with 757s.

Well just for the distance I've made YVR-YYC-KEF-STR on CMM 757-200.
The longest nonstop sector was KEF-YYC at 06.20h.

What about the AC flight to Sydney on a 767-300ER.

I believe it starts in YYZ, then off to YVR to HNL to SYD.

Thats pretty darn long.

If you're not talking about non-stop flights, but flight number,
ROYAL BRUNEI used to operate FRA-DXB-BKK-BWN and
I think LHR-DXB-BKK-BWN with 757s, in the early 90s.
The flights still exist, but now with 763s.

Not strictly 757/767-related, I remember to have seen
Wardair Canada 727 C-FFUN in DUS several times on flights from Canada (not bad, eh ?!) , and if I'm not mistaken, Sterling
used to fly fly Caravelles all over the world. Maybe our
Danish / Swedish readers can contribute more details...

Best regards...Heinz

Air Canada 3127 YYZ-HNL-SYD has to be one of the longest...or Air Canada's YYZ-TLV which is also a 767, Elal also operates the 767 on this route but it is YYZ-JFK-TLV.

I believe that either Air Canada or Canadian flew from Vancouver to Sydeny. I don't think that they stopped, but I could be wrong. If it was non-stop, that was one hel of a long flight. By the way, that was on a 767.

Let's bring some order to this chaos!!!
First of all, i think that Ladeco's route SCL-MIA is quite long for a 757-200 (8 hours and a half) although Ladeco is now a domestic chilean carrier.
And for the 767, could be the SCL-JFK route(11 hours???) or the GRU-MAD route (12 hours) both operated by LanChile, but the GRU-MAD route does not exist anymore because now LanChile flies directly to MAD from SCL in A-340

CO 67 LGW-CLE, a752, is scheduled 8:45, and has taken as long as 9:30 when encountering stiff headwinds.

I know before Canada 3000 got its A330's they used to operate a YYZ - YVR - HNL - Raratonga - SYD flight on a 757. I could have the stops mixed up but i know I was a really long trip, especially for a 757.

I wasn't aware of the CUN-EZE 757....The only one that I knew about that I think would be kind of long in a 757 is the CO flt from CLE-LGW. There could be longer ones though.

GRU-MAD is operated with 767s by Varig, wich also lands at MXP and FCO with these aircraft. I suppose the longest 767 flight is also with Varig GRU-LAX.

I took UA71 LAX-LIH in March. It was 6.5 hours with the headwinds 2,615 miles. This has to be one of the longest,at least as far as UA is concerned.

I checked the mileage on flights that were suggested here, and these would be the longest (nonstop):

CUN-EZE on Mexicana is a total of 4286 miles (757)

MAD-EZE on Spanair is 6259 miles (767)

Rafabozolla:
The last day of RG's nonstop 767 GRU-LAX service will be on May 31. Then flight will then operate GRU-LIM-LAX.

I believe another very long 767-300ER flight was Aeroflot's SEA-SVO non-stop. I believe that is now flown by a 777-200ER, though.

Last summer when I flew from Las Angelas to Detroit. I flew on a NW 757 and it took about 8 hours for the trip. I also flew from Minneapolis to Orlando on a NW 757 that took about 3 hours. Both were pretty long trips.

Mexicana # 1691
Cancun- Buenos Aires is the longest nonstop flight operated with 757-200 much longer than CLE-LGW, EWR-AMS, MCO-KEF, EWR-DUS.

Spanair
Madrid-Buenos Aires is one of the longest nonstop flights operated with 767-300ER, longer than AZ : SFO-MXP, RG : GRU-MAD, etc.

As for 747-400 the longest route is JFK-HKG and ATL-JNB.

For 777 : EWR-HKG

For A340 : HKG-YYZ,
EZE-AKL
and soon : CX´s : HKG-JFK

The 757 longest route is roughly 8 to 9 hours. Continental runs one CLE to LGW. United goes ORD to EZE with a 767-300, 13.5 hours.

Present schedules may be different, but the MIA-SCL Ladeco flight was the longest nonstop 757 segment and the LAX-GRU was the longest 767 segment, I believe. Also, Air New Zealand operated the 767 nonstop Fiji-LAX for a while.

As more 777s/A340s come into service, aircraft are being reassigned and many of the very long 757/767 flights are being operated by the newer types so that airlines can avoid load restrictions and carry more cargo.
