Boeing Quality Vs Airbus Quality

After working at QANTAS for a week on their 737's maintainence thing, I've seen heaps of stripped down parts like the floor panels, and it seems that Boeing quality is not the best, has anyone here seen parts of Airbuses? WHat do you think of the two types' quality?

Hah, it must;ve looked like that coz Boeing planes, especially 737s are around for longer than Airbus narrowbodies. WHich version of 737 were u working on?

You can check the neighbouring Airbuses of Ansett, if possible :).

I've seen Aeroflot's A310s and B767 and Boeings generally looked neater. Hmm.. maybe only at a glance but they really did.

I haven't seen actual parts of planes, etc., but I can tell you that when Finnair received their first A321s, they noticed that the quality of work on them was better then on the MDC and Boeing products they operate.

The QANTAS 737 I worked on was VH-TAV, a -300 made in 1986.

Airbus delivers his planes mostly with a much better fit and finish and provide sometimes better marerials.
Almost every Boeing plane has some lost tool in it, somewhere!
In a recent delivered Sabena MD11, engineers found a flashlight and some books inside the flaps!
Anyways, Boeing is good, Airbus is better.

Here we go again. I love Boeing, but I highly doubt their is truly a big difference between their aircrafts cleanliness and Airbus's cleanliness at the point of delivery. The rest has to do with how the particular AIRLINE maintains their fleet.

Airbuses are made by thumbless dwarves who live in a city 1200ft. below Hamburg, each plane is hand crafted from a single piece of material and delivered by a trained stork who carefully takes the plane to its final destination.

Boeings are made by huge twelve fingured ogres who throw them together with little care. These ogres live in the momountains of wahsington state. The planes they make are transported by large fire breathing birds who often graze the planes up against mountains as they transport them to their final destinations.

Give it a rest BONEHEAD!!!

Lance, King of Prussia, what the hell are you talking about?

Now, I've flown in many Boeings and only a few Airbuses (will be three in a few weeks). But in the two A320 (or A319 - I can't remember) flights I had, it seemed that the overhead compartments rattled like mad during the landings. I was ready to catch a bag or two if I had to. Anyway, I don't know if this has to do with the airline (America West) or the make. But the Am West 757 I few was a smooth ride start to finish.

Actually, I'd agree Shortstop's observation. I've only been aboard an Airbus once-- a UA A320, and while I prefer that plane to a 737 or 757, I did notice a LOT of rattling. At the same time, the interior fit and finish (and its condition) chosen by the airline may have had a lot to do with my positive opinion of the plane.

I agree with Dw. I prefer the 320 series to the 737 and 757 in terms of passenger comfort. But I haven't yet been on a NG737. Boeing claims in all their press releases that 57 customers have ordered over 1100 of them. They claim a new cabin with a more inviting interior, but members of this forum seem to hate this plane. Reading some of these posts, present and past, I'd think these 57 airlines were blind. Has anyone here flown both a NG and a 320, and if so, was the NG really so awful? I really can't tell much difference between the older 737s and the 320's except that the 320s are naturally newer and therefor nicer to ride in.

Inside Looks Don't Mean Much

By far the nicest looking (on the inside) plane that I can ever remember being on was a USAirways 737 last year. Guess what - it was a 737-200 much older than I was. It had just gotten a new interior. Just goes to show that inside looks don't really reflect a plane's age, and wouldn't represent it's quality. Southwest's interiors always look shabby, but they're the safest airline in the world.
