Servisair Buys Globe Ground

Sun Jun 03, 2001 2:10 am

The parent company of the world's largest independent handling agent, Servisair, has bought a 51% stake in Globe Ground, Lufthansa's own ground handling service. It is unclear if Globe will be merged with Servisair but this would seem to be the most likely outcome.

If this happens, Servisair would gain contracts such as Cathey Pacific, US Airways, Air Canada, Aer Lingus, Lufthansa, Aurigney, Eygpt Air and Air Wales at MAN alone, adding to airlines such as Sabena, Swissair, Crossair, Singapore Airlines, Continetal, PIA, Britannia, jmc, Airtours, European Air Charter, Air France, KLMuk, SAS, Spanair, Futura, Transjet, Onur Air, KTHY, British European, British World, Hemus Air, Skyways, EL AL, Cyprus Airways, Eurocypria, Air Europa and Excel. (Not to mention the other airlines which fly into MAN on an ad-hoc basis and cargo airlines).
