Chances Of Flying On DL 763ER New Colors?

Mon Jun 04, 2001 12:52 am

I am boarding a Delta 763ER to Europe this week and I would like to know what are the chances that I will board a jet with the older scheme. I would like to fly in the intermediate colors or heck, even the new colors. Can you guys help me out?

Your chances of getting an a/c painted in either the '97 color scheme or the new one are approximately 96.9%.

I was at ATL in April, and most of the aircraft I saw were in the '97 or '00 colours. Of course for all three legs of my trip, I was in the old-old colours...

I believe that most of the DL 763s used for transatlantic service are in the 97 or 00 colors at this point - a suprising amount were painted in the 97 colors.

I flew back from FCO on a newly painted 767 in Jan. It was cool to stand in the terminal at FCO and see 2 Delta 767's in the new colors (one to JFK, one to FCO)

on a related note, I am flying on a regular 763 (not ER, and within the US, DFW-JAX) on June 16. What are my chances of getting one of the newer paint schemes? I think the old old one is ugly.

Funny funny.

Not a joke. Delta has 65 Business Elite equipped 767-300ERs. 63 of them are painted in either the '97 or '00 colors.

Do the math and you'll find that it's approximately a 96.9 percent chance that you will ride on one of those birds.
