Northwest Jet Makes Emergency Landing In Tokyo
TOKYO (AP)--A Northwest Airlines Corp. (NWAC) passenger jet made an emergency belly landing at Tokyo's international airport after experiencing landing gear problems Tuesday, an airport spokesman said.
The incident forced the airport to shut down its only runway and suspend all flights, said Narita Airport spokesman Minoru Abe.
Northwest Airlines flight 28, headed to Tokyo from Manila, notified the airport that its landing gear was stuck and the runway was cleared, he said.
It wasn't known how many passengers were aboard, but Japan's Kyodo News service said there didn't appear to be any injuries.
