Last I heard Ansett was doing really well with their 767's
The KLM 767's leases expire soon (2005?) so they are looking at options of replacing them with alternative aircraft.
All order announcements by KLM have been postponed until they know where they stand with the European alliance partner they are still searching for.
But they have announced plans to replace all Fokker 70 and 100's with new 70 and 100 seat regional jets. They haven't announced the order but with Fokker (yes they still exist) recently agreeing to work with Embraer, and Embraer producing both a 70 and 100 (soon) seat aircraft, hmmmm..... Hey you didn't hear it from me...
My last time at the KL maintenance facility they had a lot of pictures of 777's hanging around and, not that it is that relevent to the 777, but the KL engine shop is being re-fitted to handel P&W engines in addition to the current GE engines.
As for the MD-11's I love so much. They are just baby's, the fleet is only around 8.5 years old everyone else is still using them so why can't KL.
And of course they already announced the classic 747's will be replaced with 747-400's sooo
The big a/c order everyone is waiting on really won't be that big... + fear of an economic downturn might make it that much smaller.
