CX isn't ordering the A380, at least not yet. So far, the people who are ordering them make sense. AF and SQ order every type of large aircraft there is, Emirates and Qatar want to improve thier prestige (though Emirates is about as prestige as it gets), FedEx can use the cargo room, Qantas can really use them on long-hauls, and Virgin, well Branson always wants to be on top. Then there is the leasing company, which will obviusly lease them to carriers. I could see CX ordering the A380, along with LH. Maybe Iberia (they are getting Airbus-motivated and also seem to order everything and anything - 767, A340, 747, DC10; plus, they can really use the capacity on thier all-important MIA-MAD route), South African, Saudi Arabian (money, money, money), and I am sure a Japanesse airline or two will order one. Don't look for any American carriers to order it, they don't seem to like jumbo planes, and I wouldn't expect Boeing-loving Korean Air to order them either.
