"Express.Net" Airbus At MSP

Wed Jun 13, 2001 12:41 pm

Does anyone know what the "Express.net" Airbus at MSP does or where it goes? It's been there for about a year and I've only seen it in the air once or twice.

I've seen it in Phoenix, LA, and Minneapolis (that was the only time I've seen it move). It seems that they have a bunch of A300s and a handful of 727s. I'm also curious who they are, and where they fly. I've never even seen it loaded (or unloaded).

I'd be curious to see who they are...

There is an Express.net A300 that flies daily into PHL, usually landing around 1800. They park among DHL and BAX, so maybe they are doing flights for either of those guys. We've also had an Atlas 747 running UPS flights for the past couple of weeks.

express.net is the airline formerly known as TransContinental (#2). Owned by Scott Kalitta, Connie Kalitta's son. You might not see them move because they fly contract freight charters. They come in and leave very late at night from Ypsilanti, mostly for auto makers. I assure you that they do fly though.

Hello,

The one time I've every seen the bird move at PHX, I was on the freeway. I was rather surprised when I noticed it taxiing to the runway!

Gnx99,

The A300F in MSP flies under contract for Emery Air Freight to/from their Dayton hub. It leaves late at night and gets back early in the morning, 5 nights a week.

I saw an express.net jet at DSM on May 21st and 23rd. Widebody twin whatever it was.

Strange that they don't own the express.net domain name and use it as their company name.

I saw an Express.net A300 at SAN (December 2000) and had assumed they were contracting for Emery.

Thanks for starting the post; I'd been curious about express.net.

They do fly. I was spotting at MSP on a Saturday afternoon and saw it take off. Got a picture of it, but it probably won't be accepted.

The Express.net A300 in MSP flies for Emery to its Dayton HUB and Back during the night.

It also flies a USPS mail contract during the day from MSP to IND and back.

I'm not sure when it comes in because it seems to always be there whenever I'm around. But it usually leaves around 6:30pm. I watched it depart last Sunday as I was waiting for the airport police to finish writing me a speeding ticket on Post Road.  Insane
