Is Breeze Charter Or Scheduled Airline

Mon Jun 18, 2001 9:55 pm

ive just read in a local newspaper that the airline Breeze which is a subsidary to Heavy lift apparently, is recruiting cabin crew for a NEW scheduled airline to be based at EMA.
i was told recently that Breeze was a charter airline that was basing an A300 there to help cope with the busy summer period. This has now got me confused.
please help

hmm, be nice if it's true but it's probably just a mistake by the paper.
I thought Prime (the new name for breeze) was to be an ad-hoc charter airline (ie they cover other airline's technical delays & people can privately charter the a/c).
I thought they were getting two A320s aswell?

Papers telling a load of crap again I suspect. I believe, Breeze or Prime whatever they are called, are an ad-hoc charter airline, just like Air Atlanta Icelandic.

According to 'Jethro's UK & Ireland Airline Fleet Listings', the A300 has been delivered to Prime Airlines, and is registered G-HLAD

Well that is interesting.
Was the ad for cabin crew recruitment, and it DEFINATLEY said it was for a scheduled service?

Seems abit odd to me, as I'd have thought the A300 would be too big to operate scheduled flights from EMA (?).

Hmmm..scheduled A300 flights out of EMA? Fraid that doesnt make a lot of sense, considering that they could have flown from either of the London Airports or Manchester ahead of EMA, so something is wrong, unless they just wanted to be different and end up going bust in the process

LOL- but you're very probabley right.

Here's my theory-
Perhaps Prime are (as thought, ad-hoc) based at EMA, but have a long term contract to operate the A300 for a scheduled airline, from a different airport, hense the mention of a scheduled operation for the crew?
But of course that's a total guess! Any more ideas?!

I'll have a look on the CAA website to see what type of lisence they hold...

Well I went to the CAA website, and I couldn't find any info on Prime, but here's what I found about Heavy Lift's licences:

-Class 2 Licences which authorise passenger and cargo charter flights to defined points outside the European Union.

-Class 6 Licence which authorises cargo charter flights world-wide, subject to the limitations in the AOC.

The airline was orginally going to be called Breeze. It is now called Prime and the aircraft can currently be seen at EMA on standby for JMC, BY, AMM and AIH.
The owner bought all Transaer catering equipment which we have at work at the moment ready.

As regards the question about if A300's could possibly operatre out of EMA. Didn't you know we have had the runway extended?? We are capable of operating 747 flights!!! Since the extention we have had 747's operating cargo, notably Cathay Pacific and A340 and A330's training.

Hope this helps!

Anymore info on EMA let me know!!!

Regarding the possibility of sched A300 flights from EMA, we ment that there wouldn't be enough demand for such a large a/c, not that the airport couldn't handle A300s.  Smile

We know that EMA can handle A300s, as regards to te DHL freighters, even MME can handle A300s and B747s (only just), what I meant was if you were looking to start a new sched airline with an A300 sized a/c, EMA wouldnt be your first choice would it, you would go for a London Airport or Manchester wouldnt you?

I think there would be demand at EMA, maybe not schedules but definately charter.

The aircraft isn't very exciting, it's all white with Prime titles, I have a photo in my camera!
