Spirit Airlines New Service

Tue Jun 08, 1999 7:02 am

Spirit is going to begin service to the carribean and central and south america according to their web page. Does anyone know what cities and what type of equipment they will use? Spirit seems like a nice company......I do wish that they would change their paint scheme though.

the airline new service is DTW-LAX 6/17/99 for the caribbean. they were going to SJU but thats on hold for now with the new move to FLL they can use that as a International base and do the caribbean and south & central America. A/C they want more MD-80 I also heard they were looking in to the B.757 but for now MD-80 and the DTW-LAX is on a MD-80 A/C.

This is what I think they should look like. They are now based in Florida so they need to be bright and cheerful. The Spirit name should be in script on the front of the aircraft like it is on the tail. The lettering should be dark blue. There should be a zigzag curvy stripe that starts behind the "S". It should start thin and and get wide so that by the time it reaces the tail it is nearly covering the tail. By the way, this stripe should be magenta. there should be a thin violet blue (the same color as the lettering) zig zag strip under the magenta stripe. It will sort of be a shadow. They need to come up with a logo and it would be on the tail (in the magenta area) in violet.
