US Airways is good. The new colors are better than the old ones.

New colors are good as is the rebranding "US Airways".

Their trans-Atlantic service is good and domestic is ok from my own observations.

US Airways is a good airline. If you live in the Northeast, you can't beat their schedules and frequent nonstop flights. Their planes are clean and comfortable, with plenty of seat pitch for my 5'11.5," 195 lb. frame. Their service personnel are knowledgeable and helpful. The airline has come a *long* way from the "Agony Air" of the 1970's and 1980's. The new "Darth Vader" colors are very classy. They're much better than the nondescript old USAir stripes-and-bare-aluminum scheme that didn't even have an insignia other than the airline's name.

But US Airways, like the other Five Oligopoly-Mafia airline Families, will charge you through the nose on routes where they can get away with it. Thank the Lord that Southwest has entered the Northeast, and that JetBlue has taken flight. Airfare relief in the Northeast is *way* behind other parts of the country, and it's still got a long way to go.

I find them really good, I live up in Maine and they serve PWM so its pretty convinent something around 15 flights a day from PWM or so maybe a bit less. But they are friendly and their fleet is relativly new besides metro jet

As a long-time person who hates US but always flies them due to:

a. no choice (parental decision)
b. no suitable alternative (PHL)

I must say that US over the past few years has improved immensely, their in-flight service has improved 450%, however they need improvements in IFE and also I find their gate-agents to be consistenly (sp?) rude, other than that they are ok...the new A32X series of them is VERY comfortable, especially the A321, with that huge bulkhead/emer row seat...lots of legroom but the rest of coach seems comfy too...

I find US Airways to be on par with the other major airlines I have experienced in the United States. My first flight with them was about 15 years ago when they were merging with Piedmont. I think it is a totally different airline then it was back then. I applaud them for all the improvements they have made to their hub airports and terminals. I don't really care for their 737's, DC-9, & MD80 equipment, however two of the three are being retired and their 737-200 are over at Metrojet, so thats a good thing. I do have to say their 767, 757, F-100, and Airbus aircraft are very nice, especially their Airbus'. I think of all the flights I have had with them, there is one trip which I would care to forget.

As for their scheme, it's a no brainer for me. Their current scheme is wonderful, I like it 100 times better then what they had. Actually I like it the best in the US next to TWA.

US AIRWAYS is one of the best airlines I have flown on. I flew with them 8 times and they are great. Service is good, F/A's are really nice and pilots are cool. Aircraft are clean and efficient. They are one of my favourite airlines and I recomend them to anyone.

US good, Wolf bad. The man's record is: paint it gray, sell it off, pocket $million$. That worked for awhile, but US is too large too be acquired and too poorly managed to afford an acquisition. (Thought for years they should have bought TWA). Only logical target for them is HP, but they can't afford to confront WN in PHX due to high costs. As I stated on another post: The assets they squandered acquiring PI/PS were criminal.

USAFHummer sez: I find their gate-agents to be consistenly (sp?) rude, [snip]

Well, let's analyze that sentence... You live in Philadelphia (The City of Brotherly Thugs, according to your own newspaper). The gate agents come from Philadelphia... do you sense a connection here?  Smile

just kidding folks.

Seriously, US Airways is my favorite choice when I fly. Unfortunately, I've moved to an area where their service is limited, but I still prefer them greatly over the likes of TW and especially UA.

I also live in Maine and enjoy their service from PWM. I don't fly very often, but in my limited experiences I've never had anything to complain about from US Airways. I received very friendly service from them when I was flying as an unaccompanied minor.

What, AirTran isn't good enough for you to go to FLL on them? Big grin

Lowfare...

My dad is Chairman's Preferred FF status with US, so we dont really have a choice, also my mom is a little scared of "low-fare type airlines" so we dont ever fly anything other than US...consequently the only three airlines I have ever flown on are US, UA, and AA...

DLX-

Even in other airports (non-hub), they seem to be rude too, although I have yet to find a friendly gate agent in PHL
