Quick Questions About Iran Air's A333s

Tue Jun 26, 2001 12:41 am

-What month this year will the first of the 4 be delivered?
-What routes will they be used on?
-Will the B747s leave the fleet when the airbuses arrive?

Cheers.  Big thumbs up

As far as I know, they are not getting any A330s. They are buying 6 used A310s from Turkish Airlines, plus a former Canadian-registered A310, also used. All of them are expected this year. That's all the orders I know of.

I have not seen anything official on their dumping the 747s either.

Not true, As far as I know they have orders for at least 4, maybe already 8 A330. They are supposed to be the -300 but lately I´ve heard that they were converted into the -200.

Tiger,

You have a source for that? It's not on Airbus's site nor in the JP, although that might be explained if they are to be leased.

This link might be a bit better. There are a couple of popup ads, but it's worth it.

I was wrong. Iran Air did order A330-300, subsequently changed to -200s. They are due in 2002.

Iran Air finalised an order securing 8 A330-300's to replace its ageing fleet of 747's. The first two are to be delivered in the third and fourth quarter of this year with the next two following in 2002 . The four remaining aircraft are expected to follow through 2004 .
