Most Inaccurate Letter On A Complaint Site:

Can any of you recall reading any truly bizarre letters on a site which allows you to complain about airline service? For example: http://www.untied.com/ http://www.planetfeedback.com/ http://www.airtravelcomplaints.com/ http://www.ecomplaints.com/

This letter to Alaska Airlines has to be one of the most truly bizarre I've seen...

Firstly, how could his daughter have flown from "Orlando to Ft. Myers" on "Harbor Air?" The only Harbor Air I know of flew between Seattle and points in Puget Sound (and also briefly out of PDX). He is also wrong about Harbor Air being owned by Alaska, although they did codeshare on certain routes and he seemed to give a valid AS/Harbor Air codeshare flight number.

It sounds like the guy might have had a legit complaint against the former Harbor Air, but his letter might have a better chance of being taken seriously if he could could at least name a city pair that was not 2,500 miles outside of their route system!

Alrighty---while we're on the subject, does anyone know what (if anything) is going on with Harbor Air? I've heard from some people that they are "gone," but I've also heard a few say that they are still trying to "reorganize"...does anyone have any more information??

BTW...don't think visiting harborair.com will help you  Big grin

I'm not really sure about it but, I can see Harbor Air moving aircraft to Florida for the winter. I just can't imagine the routing. I thought all their aircraft were float equipped. Not a problem Orlando-Ft. Myers. There are numerous seaplane bases in both areas. It most likely wasn't MCO-RSW. I've got an open mind on this one. Maybe someone that wants to read back a few years in ACAR or WAFN can enlighten us. I could, but right now I just don't feel like digging through all those back issues. If no one else does, I will later in the week.

I know that Florida Air (Flair) were using aircraft leased from, and operated by Harbor Airlines, and Orlando-Fort Myers may have been one of their destination.

Under this arrangement, flights would have had a Harbor Airlines flight code, as Florida Air did not have their own AOC.

So it does seem that this person does have a legitimate complaint against Harbor Airlines, and further, if that flight had an AS flight number, also a legitimate complaint with Alaska Airlines (although AS does not own Harbor Airlines.

Wow...very interesting, Aviatsiya.

I figured there had to be some sort of reasonable explanation for this complaint...

I guess the thing I find most surprising is that the flight in question was still operated as a codeshare with Alaska, even though it was in Florida! But, all AS/Harbor codeshares had 4500 series flight numbers, so that would seem to suggest it was indeed a codeshare.
