Size VS Speed!

Tue Jun 26, 2001 11:39 am

How many airlines will decide to use A380 in the future?
How many airlines will choose sonic cruiser instead of A380?
which one, A380 or S/C, will become more interesting for the passenger?
I got these kind of questions to me always.. since it has been a big competition betweeen them.
myself, even the A380 could contain 555 passengers within double deck, i don't pay attention much to it since it's hardly to see B747 become fully booked with all three classes at our time(except some route). A380 can be put more 150 passengers than 747..that's it. i think in the future time will become more interesting if you can fly faster, and more exciting.. imagine, how do you feel when you cruise to the island with a big ferry, suddenly, one speed boat go advance with it high speed from you...what do you think??

I believe its better to have the years go by airplanes are getting more comfortable so passengers wont be complaining as much no over booked flights etc....

they'll jam in as many as they can at 31" pitch no matter the size of the a/c until somthing serious happens with the economy class syndrome. I thought the 777 was going to be different - but no !

I'm willing to pay an extra 5-10% for a few inches of legroom ( I'm 5'11" )

Size is DEFINENTLY better! Ok, the Boeing SST is suppose to carry what, 200 passengers(correct me if i'm wrong). That means JFK-LGW around a 12hr 45 minute flight would take about 10hrs. Or, you could transport 550 passengers in 12hr 45 minutes! So, in 24 Hours, the Fast Boeing will have transported 400 passengers(GUZZLING gas!) while the bulky Airbus has transported 1100! So obviously, Size does matter!

If i messed up on any of that please correct me as I put down what I remembered from hearing the estimated specs of the 2 planes!

Specs sound right, but 1 error. It's not an SST!

My bad, but it comes close. I can't really think of anything else to call it! By the way isnt the speed around Mach .80? Or is it slower? Thanks!
