Boeing 747-300 Without Paint (2 Pics)

Tue Jun 26, 2001 5:44 pm

I think these two pictures, as showed underneath, are one of the most special ones I've seen over here over the past month or so.

If you have ever wonderded how a modern airliner looks like, without any paint, than I think these pictures give you an amazing answer.

Now I undertsnad why airline companies paint their aircraft with a nice livery. It would be a littlebit boring, to see nothing but aircraft in this 'natural' metal colour, don't you think?

They also show the weather radar, since the noce cone has obviously been removed for some reason.

What's new about it? We had American, Eastern, USAir, Flying Tigers, ... and we can still see them everyday at an aircraft factory, those 'naked' birds in primer. For Airbus, they are normally green.

RW774477:

I think they did. I think that, as long as they are not written off or something, they have to wear a visible registration, at least that's what I think.

Its interesting to note that the reg for the first freighter is said to be B-KAA. All Hong Kong aircraft are B-HXX. Is this the start of a new reg series.

And again great photo's from my old friend Andrew Hunt.

Here's a good question- If that pulled up to the gate for boarding looking like it does in the pics above- would you get on it???
