Lufthansa 747-400 Seats

Thu Jun 28, 2001 6:21 am

I'm scheduled to fly with Lufthansa on their 747-400 and I'm booked on row 26 K (by the window). I noticed in that area of the plane there are several "blocked windows"- seats by the window but in some places instead of a window there is just a wall. Does anyone know if 26K is such a seat? If anyone knows, could you please inform me coz I really REALLY don't feel like being stuck next to a wall with no window for 10 hours! Thanks,

I do not think they have any seats there, there are lavratorys and galleys in that area of the aircraft with the scattered row of seats.

I looked on a seat configuration of LH-744 from 1999. The row 26 is missing here.

Are you sure to fly on a 744 or may it be a 742 or A340?!

best regards,

Some of the hardest, most uncomfortable seats you'll ever experience. Fly someone else. Lufthansa is not a
wonderful airline by any means. Punctual and good
route network, but indifferent to borderline rude in
flight service and lousy comfort on long flights.

Nightfly,

I am positive- it is the 747-400. I'm flying FRA-PEK and then SHA-FRA both with 744's. Row 26 is the third row in economy class. You can also go to Lufthansa's website, all the info appears there. The only thing I do not know is wether I will be able to see through the window or will I be staring at the wallpaper for 10 hours?

ContinentalEWR,

I had another CHEAPER option of flying to Beijing from Frankfurt with Thai Airways via Bangkok- that means a 10 and a half hour flight to Bangkok, a four hour layover in BKK and then another 4 and a half hour flight to Beijing, and back again coming from Shanghai. Which do you think is the worse option- flying directly with LH or accumulating the extra miles with TG?  Insane

Lufthansa is a very good airline, much much better than other european Airlines like British Airways. LH has good food, great aircraft, good entertainment and their new cabin style in the 747s and A340s is very nice (although I prefer their A300s  Smile ). The only thing in which LH is not that good is that they dont have PTVs, thats all. I dont know why many people think that LH is not a good airline. Im sure they are one of the best airlines worldwide as they become airline of the year a lot.
Have a great flight with LH, Im sure u will like them

Flumuc,

I am no stranger to Lufthansa, I've flown with them many times, as early as 1987 and all my flights so far with them were very good. These two coming flights are going to be the longest Lufthansa flights I have ever been on. Before that I flew with them mainly between FRA and TLV- had one flight with them from FRA to IAD when they were still using their DC-10's, and I can honestly say that it was one of my most enjoyable flights ever.
But the one thing I STILL don't know is, in what rows are the windows blocked in the famed mid-first section of economy on all 747's? I just hope row 26 is not one of those rows...
