CX Is Going To Strike

Fri Jun 29, 2001 12:01 am

well, just heard from the news, CX management and the pilots association had given up their bargain for higher wages.......so the strike is coming.
The government in HK is getting pretty nervous about this incident.

do the pax get re-routed on other airlines in those cases ? - it's doubly expensive on the airline then - lost revenue + pay some one else to take their pax !

it's gonna be limited industrial action only in the first stage. It's not gonna be a strike.

Pax will be protected to other airlines if things really go wrong.

Caught wind of it at pprune in May! This is a terrible thing and will not help HK as a whole. what's worse is that we don't know who's right as each blames the other so who's fault is it? Do CX pilots earn comparable wages in the industry or are they actually lower. A 32% increase in salary seems a little far-fetched to carry out all at once although some have said it's only actually 15%! With all the BS flying about, we can't tell who's wrong. However, this is a terrible thing to happen as Emirates is going to get more revenue as they are flying me to London.
