AUA Group To Operate Under OS Code

Sat Jun 30, 2001 9:06 am

Austrian Airlines Group carriers Lauda Air, Tyrolean Airways, Rheintalflug and Austrian Airlines will operate scheduled flights under a single unified OS flight-number code from 28Oct01.

The flight numbers will indicate which of the airlines is operating a particular flight; two- or three-digit numbers will refer to AUA services while four-digit numbers will identify the partner carriers.

No more VO and NG code.... Sad

Thank god for that - I once flew on MH18/NG8/OS4008/OU whatever - there were four codes on this one 777 service from Kuala Lumpur to Vienna - no one including the crew (who joked) knew who was flying the plane!
