Its A Beautiful Thing...

I am in SEA this week for business, actually flying out in a couple of hours. Yesterday, I went to the Boeing plant in Everett, and did the factory tour, which was quite interesting. However, to me, the best part of it had to be when I was waiting for my tour to begin, I was sitting on a picnic table outside of Boeing's tour center, and saw them pushing back a Singapore Air 777 from what I believe to be the final delivery area, or at least the final preparation area outside of the paint hangars at this plant. I watched until they pushed it all the way to the edge of the runway, where it then taxied under its own power, and then took off almost right over my head. I have no clue if it was a test flight, or a delivery flight, but it was incredible! I was in awe, it is the closest angle I have ever seen a takeoff from. I wish I had my camera with me.

This afternoon, before coming to get on my flight, I stopped at the Boeing Museum of Flight, and was fortunate enough to see an ATA 737-800 take off from Boeing field. The blended winglets, and the new ATA livery were very attractive. Needless to say, I have had an enjoyable visit in the Seattle area.  Smile
