A number of L1011s have been converted to freighters - mainly -200s, with one -1 (operated by TradeWinds). Will more be done? Certainly the -250s would make good prospects - but the cost of conversion coupled with a dubious asset value would rule out all but the most adventurous.
The L1011 has going for it more volume and better fuel economics and operating costs than the DC10-30 (but lower payload and shorter range); and of course outperforms in terms of range and payload (but is more expensive than the A300.
