Just keep in mind you are lucky enough to be flying on a "classic." Savor it.

Lucky you - DIA

I apologize if I came across as being rude.

Can anyone tell me what to expect. i.e. take-off..landing etc etc. And generally during flight.

Here is what to expect.

Takeoff : The 4 PW JT9D engines will rev up and produce about 40000lb thrust each and the plane will roll down the runway. At V1 speed, the captain will decide to continue the takeoff and will rotate at Vr speed. Pitch will be around 7 degrees. Rate of climb will depend upon the takeoff weight.

Landing : This depends on whether they are doing a visual or instrument approach.

During flight : The plane will fly. Occasionally, it will pitch, yaw or bank depending on control inputs.

enjoy ur trip--and let us know if it was AP-BAT or AP-BAK--personally i have flown both of these aircraft many times and i think that AP-BAT is a smoother ride all over--try and get the seats upstairs in the hump--those are coach also--much quieter ride!!!!!

GF-A330,
You are a lucky dog! I've never flown on a 747 of any kind. May I ask which route you are going to be on?

BTW... Don't you just hate it when @$$ holes come in here and make rude comments that nobody wants to hear?

Uhhhh,

Hgkspotter1,

It is not just like any other plane. Does a Fokker F100 feel like a 767? No. A person's first 747 flight is always a special moment for them, well, for most people. Please Hkgspotter1, It's just like any other plane !!!!, STOP making stupid comments on these kind of topics.

GF-A330,

Enjoy your flight! You will love the 747 and you first flight on it!

I can't say that I've been on any plane that feels like a different A/C. But, I do know that a lot of people claim that most A/C feel the same.

To me, feeling the way a particular A/C flies is different with every model. It is like flying on the simulators; Every aircraft feels different, there are always different feelings of flight, specific to each A/C, and the same if you are a passenger.
