Repainting ATA, Sun Country Fleets

Sat Jul 14, 2001 6:26 pm

Does anyone have any info on whether or not ATA or Sun Country plan to paint any of their older aircraft in their new liveries?

This is what I think......Sun Country is retiring their 727s soon, so there would be no need for a new livery painted on them. I live by MSP, and Sun Countrys 727s no longer say Sun Country on them, and are always by the hangar, so I think those planes are going bye-bye. Only the new 737-800s will have the new colors. I have no clue about ATAs aircraft.

All of ATA's 757-200 fleet will be repainted in the new colors. The 727 and L1011's are being retired so i do not see any of them getting the new paint job.

Both have ambitious plans (that right now don't include Houston). Between them and AirTran, Frontier and JetBlue, the Second Tier is starting to burgeon...
