Delta Airline Food

Wed Jul 18, 2001 11:26 am

What is Delta's food like? I will be flying CLE-CVG-PHX-CVG-CLE in two weeks. The flights to PHX and from PHX are both 757's. The trip there will have a snack. What type of snack is usual? The return trip will have dinner. What type of dinner is most common?

Thanks, Brad

Dinner snack. Equivalent to a SkyDeli you'd get at the cooler by the gate.

It's a box with an apple, water, sandwich, chips, and cookies.

It looks excactly like a NWA dinner! The little plastic tubs are handed out with those contents. Not too exciting.

I had breakfast on a DL flight and even though you can tell it is fake, it still tastes good!

These guys must have had bad flights, i flew ATL-PHX on a 757, and i got a chicked breast, or hat least half of one, green beans, and pasta, which when you put it in the green bean sauce was great. I also got the water, bagel, salad(which was also good), and a chocolate moose brownie, the brownie was awsome. I was very impressed with the food on this flight, i havent had airline food this good, since flying on singapore. Synopsis: Good Eatin, hope you get the same.

Hello All,
About two weeks and a half ago, I was on board Delta Flight 465 from Mexico City to LAX. Breakfast was served on this flight and it was good. I can't complain. There was an option of scramble eggs or french toast. I chose french toast and it was good. What was also served was papaya, grapes, croisant, butter, sausage, orange juice, water, jam, yogurt, and coffee. One thing you have to realize is that this was an international flight. On domestic flights, I've had the chicken dinner or the sky-deli (depends on the duration of the flight). Overall, I like the food.

Dude... I am the KING of DL726 (the flight formerly known as DL926 back when it left at a decent hour) and DL465.

Can you believe that DL726 now arrives MEX at 0530 or whatever that is? Last time I arrived in MEX I went straight to our family place and crashed for about 12 hours.

But I digress.... the best Delta meals I have had have been in BusinessElite. Domestic First meals have been very good as well. In coach, the international food is good, domestic food is unpredictable. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's for the dogs.....
It's a new day. Every moment matters. Now, more than ever.

Haven't had the experience of a full MEAL on DL but looking forward to it. You know, see what the big (negative) deal is about airline food.

I HAVE HAD their snack mix which I find dleicious, and it should be sold in stores. Absolutely fantastic!!! Big grin

International coach inbound to U.S. consists of a chicken dish or a pasta dish. Outbound from the states on international flights expect a selection of steak or chicken in coach.

Outbound from LIM, you will get dinner served to you after departure.....1am. There is no breakfast served prior to landing, just drinks so bring something to snack on. It is a 6 hour flight.

Coach long haul domestic offers a selection of steak or chicken. The snack basket has been replaced in many markets by a snack box that is pretty good. Ususally a roll-up sandwich with cheese and crakers and a cookie. Or a chicken salad over a bed of lettuce with bread sticks.

Breakfast long haul usually consists of an omelette or a fruit and cereal in coach.

International offers a bagel or croissant with some fruit and a granola bar on morning arrivals.

Hello DeltaSFO,
I was on flight 726 on June 2, 2001. Flight 726 arrives at 6:09 A.M. I guess it's a decent arrival time, but guess what? For the Fall schedule, Delta is changing their departure time for Mexico City at 7:55 P.M. as flight 396. It's scheduled to arrive at 1:33 A.M. the next day. Although with the hour change in Mexico, flight 396 will arrive at 12:33 A.M. for a little while (sometime in October or December. I am not sure). As a note, I do remember flight 956. I was on that flight a year ago. Too bad it's gone. I really did like that flight, including the old flight 1031 that left at 10:25 A.M. to Mexio City. Those were the old days. Oh well.

Delta has good food, my most recent experience was on July 16 JAX-DFW-RNO. Both flights were SkyDeli, but they were good. On the DFW-RNO segment there was a chicken salad which was great, my sister didn't like the dressing served with it (she only likes ranch, picky eater) so I ate her chicken salad and mine.

Well, if youre in coach it down right sucks!!!! But, First Class Snacks are either Chicken Pizza, Salad, or something else I can't remember what the other was. In coach- Make sure you get your little Sky Deli Bag from the cart before you board the plane. It consists of either a Sandwhich or salad in the afternoon, a danish some fruit and yogurt in the morning, but I don't know how it is in night flights. One thing I do know is that Coach "Snacks" Suck!!!!
Thanks and Gig Em!
