SIA To Take Delivery Of 1st A380. Emirates Out?

Singapore Airlines will also be the first airline in the world to operate the 555-seat A380, with the delivery of the first aircraft scheduled for the first quarter of 2006. Source: Airbus.com

What happend to Emirates order. It was supposed to be be the launch customer to the A380 (according to the same source, airbus.com)

Emirates people, any explanation???

SIa ordered the A380 and it was announced they would be the first. That was in September 2000. However four months later, Emirates woke up after dozing and not realised for four months, that SIA were going to be first. They were not impressed and went to Toulouse. How nice. Anyway they discussed. However, they obviously haven't done much.

Oh well. SIA fans rejoice.
