How Can AZ Make MXP - Eze?

Thu Jul 19, 2001 8:56 pm

I'm wondering how Az can fly the MD11 nonstop yearround from Milano MXP to Ezeiza Airport Buenos Aires.
Do they have PAX or Cargo restrictions ??
The route is 6898 mIles long.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

From what I know there aren't limitations in PAX or cargo on MXP-EZE.

The flight is schedule on a MDD-11 (no combi) with a 283 pax layout.
It takes 13 hours and 55 minutes on MXP-EZE and 12 hours and 50 minutes on the flight back.
The flight is scheduled 4 times a week from MXP.
The others 3 times is operated from FCO.

So the Italy-Argentina flight is daily.

This route is one of the candidate to see soon the new B777/200er.

I hope to see this route flown by a 340!!!!
AZ needs to buy some new bird.
777 is a good choice, but now they need some Airbus, too.

Ciao,
I am sorry for you but I highly doubt that AZ will ever introduce the A340.
The only possibility is the A330-200 to replace and implement the 767 fleet as Air France did but this option too is unlikely.
I think AZ will end up to have a long range fleet based on 767 and 777. A mix of 767-300ER, maybe 767-400ER, 777-200ER and -300ER is well suited to cover all AZ needs on long range routes.

Ciao

Will they have their 777s equiped with PTVs in coach ?
Also when will their 777s arrive ?

Thanks,

The route is nonstop on both ways but I have friends who flew and because of frontal winds the MD11 did a technical stop in Rio de Janeiro.

B737/700:

It's not clear when B777 will arrive, but seem probably from March 2002.
Actually I haven't read about cabin configuration and on board IFE, but if they follow AF and DL probably PTV's will be also in coach.
