How are you, Jimmy?
I live down south in Tasmania.
Sadly, we dont get a huge variety of widebody aircraft coming to Hobart, but we do get the occasional 767, and even 747s , but few and far apart. We did get a few Antonov124 visits back in `98, watching them smoke up the tyres on touchdown on our short runway was something worth seeing!

For you guys down in Melbourne, many years ago I used to trade photos with an older gentleman by the name of George Gaidzkar. Anyone know if he is still around? We stopped trading several years ago when he was having health problems.

problem is that OZ/NZ is a big place: there's no way we can get together, EXCEPT if we organise a date well in advance on a weekend, and fly into a central place (SYD or MEL) using the cheap DJ/AN/QF airfares... How cool would that be: fly-in, fly-out for the day, if people can afford it (esp. you NZ, WA people)

Any thoughts on that???? There are at least enough people in MEL, SYD, BNE, CBR to have a good get together in SYD.

I am a SYD starter (plenty of notice required as I am often away)

Why not make an informal gathering - say the AN terminal, end gate 1000 hours on the first Sunday of each month?

and i think it should take place at different places every time... like SYD the first time and MEL the second time and so on...

B727-200, MEL.

It would be good if it were to move around the region so that you don't have to fly every time.
