I know this is a little off the usual scope of topics on this forum, but I was hoping I could gleam some ideas or maybe even assistance off some of the more knowledgeable persons in this forum...
I booked a flight on a QF 747SP service for August 30, to be the highlight of my year (especially because of their imminent retirement)!!!! However, in the last few days QF changed their schedules with this flight now to be operated by a 747-300 which I have flown often.
Anyway, to do this flight, I have booked and paid for partly in $$$ and partly in FF points a trip from Canberra to Sydney, Sydney-Brisbane (the supposed-to-be 747SP service) and Brisbane back to CBR.
Being a student, I was only able to afford the non-refundable tickets. I don't have the money to do another such folly if it can be called as such.
Any ideas what I can do??? In normal circumstances I have no rights, but I thought someone at QF may have a heart and allow me to rebook myself on another date still operated by the 747SP at no penalty.
I have emailed and written to QF customer service about this. Is there anything else I can do????
