Strange Flights Over Honolulu

Mon Jul 30, 2001 6:47 am

Hi all,

I just booted up my FlyteTrax software and saw a strange pattern of the coast of Hawaii. Six aircraft were all flying in a straight line eastbound. The data tag said that they were from RJAA-PHNL (Narita-Honolulu). The flight info was :

NWA10 (B747-200)
NWA22 (B747-200)
JAL76 (B747-200)
UAL826 (B747-400)
ANA1052 (B747-200)
JAL74 (B747-400)

Does anybody have any ideas on why this would be taking place? Surely all these flights don't depart NRT for HNL at the same time..... Thanks.

I flew UA 826 last Sunday from Narita to HNL and yes, all those flights leave within a half hour of each other. They also arrive together in the morning at HNL and create a lot of crowding in customs.
Aloha.
