As I said, replacing ATR's with other aircrafts is just a rumour, but it's more and more obvious that they will actually do it... CRJ will be a very smart replacement.
They need smaller regional aircrafts (hopefully jets) in order to keep the service to smaller island-based airports like Losinj, Brac, Hvar and similar.
The government will invest lot of money into building more of these airports during the next few years, and there will be more need for regional a/c in Croatia.
The smaller airliners (like North Adria) with their Turbolets are not big enough to cover that part of the market, they will allways get the left-overs from CTN.
When it comes to Airbuses, all I know is what I wrote. It was on TV and in newspapers that CTN is going into second phase of renewing the fleet, which considers buying 3 or 4 more airbuses. Don't know the delivery time, but if the same thing happens like with the first airbuses, it will be surprisingly short. If nothing will happen before summer 2002, they will lease BAe-146 again...
Don't know why they call it "renewing", because the whole fleet (except ATR's) is allready renewed.
Hold on for more info soon...
