Air Canada Service To SFO

Thu Aug 02, 2001 8:49 am

Hi,

Air Canada began scheduled service to SFO in the mid-to-late 1970's. Does anyone know which type of aircraft was used? Was it a DC-9 or a 727?

Thanks,
Kurt

Are you thinking of the service from Calgary to SFO? I have a vague recollection it may have started as 727, then reverted to DC-9, similar to YYZ-DFW-IAH

I have an old timetable from the 70's, non-stop from YYZ and YYC were 727-200, the service from YYC was changed on and off to DC-9 during the 80's and 90's

Hope this helps

I have photos from the late 70's of Air Canada DC9's, B727's, and DC-8's at SFO. The best I can remember was that they started with the DC9's though.

I'm thinking it started with a 727, but I also picture a DC-9 in my mind, so maybe this switching between aircraft is the reason why?

Thanks for your help,
Kurt
