The opening title to your thread says 'What is your favourite plane'?

You have listed aircraft manufacturers rather than a single 'favourite plane'!

Considering that you have opened two new threads within the last hour you could have put a bit more effort in your opening sentence!

I have several but to solely pick one because the question posed was 'favourite plane' as in singular so I will go for the Boeing 707 for its asthectic looks and the fact that it was a game changer for commercial aviation when it entered service in 1958.

If I had to choose just one it would have to be the Lockheed Tristar!

I had to really think about choosing between the B707 or the L1011 Tristar especially the later as the 500 version was a real beauty.

I like civilian designs of Douglas Aircraft/McDonnell Douglas very much.

My favourite planes are the family consisting of the DC-9/MD-80/-90 and MD-95 (Boeing 717).

I'm with the OP; de Havilland made several exceptional aircraft, but this one was the best.

Favorite plane?? I'd have to say the B17. Could the Allies have won the war without it??

Favorite airliner - MD11. Just a beautiful aircraft, especially with full flaps and gear down on final...

Gosh, HOW did I forget my namesake?

VC-10

Even if it’s not your favorite, I cannot imagine anyone saying she was “ugly” or least favorite. She was the Rita Hayworth of airplanes!

Difficult one to answer .......[twoid][/twoid]

From the older generation. .ie retired (mostly)
Concorde, Tristar and B707
Current crop or generally still in service
A380, B747, A340

Overall ....let's say the B747. I've always loved the 747 and she's changed long haul travel in her day and now as the number of carriers decline and airframes head to the breakers, it's time to admire her in the autumn of her career.

Great choices of aircraft. I might be silly to say this but I love the DC-10. I never got to fly one but I wish I could fly one. Maybe when I grow up be a pilot for a cargo DC-10.

Civilian:
So tough to decide... so I'll just go with the E170/175/190. I have flown on them many times and the 2x2 layout, huge windows, and overall comfort is top tier. Only downside is that they seem to be a bit turbulence prone.

Military:
F-22 and the SR-71. The Raptor looks so cool and is a marvel to watch in action. As for the Blackbird, being fascinated with the history of the Cold War along with its sleek appearance and incredible speed... nothing like that plane will ever be built again. Really wish I could see one fly.

Top two has to be Concorde and The Queen (Boeing 747) particularly the early variants.

Other favourites in no particular order are

Airbus A350
Boeing 727
Boeing 777
Lockheed L1011
Vickers Vanguard
Douglas DC-8
