present longest and historic longest 773 (non ER) route?

Mon Jan 01, 2018 8:58 am

I'm guessing it's either CX or TG with their service to Australia?

How about the longest route in operational history? Were there any TATL or trans pacific routes?

CX may have flown the 773A to MEL at one point. They use 77W’s to SYD/MEL now on some flights. TG BKK-MEL Maybe the longest recent route? Mainly 77W/77E/359 now.

KE flew NRT-LAX and ICN-NAN years ago, a few ICN-AKL, TG a few subs BKK-AKL. SQ had them briefly scheduled SIN-AKL due to Japan Tsunami 77W required elsewhere.

Transaero have any long hauls with them?

Ah yes, Transaero did operate them to LAX as per photos in the database.. I didn't know it had the range for such a long haul. NRT-LAX is doable when compared with LAX-SVO

Not a scheduled flight but SQ flew 9V-SYG nonstop from SIN to VCV for retirement last year.

Didn’t Emirates fly them to Australia via SIN/BKK?

Not to hijack the thread but how long could a 773ER with tanks topped and just crew fly?

How many non ER 773s did Boeing sell before the ER launch? And did the non-ER have a far shorter range than the 772ER? (I assume so!)

As far as I know they were operating them as well on BKK-FCO as well as BKK-ARN.

According to a Boeing payload-range chart (Sept. 2008) a 773ER can fly right at 9,000 nmi with full fuel and no payload.

According to Wiki, Boeing's Orders & Delivery page and my arithmetic: Boeing launched the Next Gen 777X twin jet program called 777-X February of 2000. Prior to that date Boeing sold forty-six 773s. After that date they sold 14.
As for range, with similar payloads the 773ER can fly about 2000 nmi farther then the non ER version.

TG did fly them to ATH and more recently DME, I don’t recall them being on ARN or FCO however, not to say they weren’t st some stage though.

They did, all the way through to AKL via SIN-BNE/MEL/SYD, pretty sure back then they were all through SIN between 2003/06 or so, not all 3 at once were 773’s up to 2 were:
