A 1998 United Airlines Travel Voucher discovered by UA Passenger

Fri Feb 02, 2018 10:47 pm

I've noticed that some users have posted aviation-related news stories, and I decided I'll do the same. Here's the first one. For those passengers and/or fans of United Airlines, here's a news story for you to read: https://www.inc.com/bill-murphy-jr/a-un ... onded.html. Please tell me what you think about it in the comments section below (as a reply I mean).

A wise PR move by UA to honor it

Wow! United--and they're not the only ones--are so far in the hole when it comes to giving good customer service, that the honoring of this voucher won't help their reputation much, but it WILL help . . . barely! From the bludgeoning and forced ejection of Dr. David Dao from his ORD-SDF flight last April, to the destruction of the Taylor guitars belonging to the Sons of Maxwell, United has a LOT of gloom to overcome. So, just what will it take for United to return to the "Friendly Skies?"

Here, the Sons of Maxwell perform their ode to the aforementioned incident: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YGc4zOqozo

I don't think that's how this is meant to work.

Sorry but why is this a big deal

United Airlines made a promise and they kept it

There shouldn’t have been any waffling over honoring that but there was

They were reminded what the right thing to do is and they did it

Otherwise they would have ‘waffled off’

No reason for congratulations

Technically they didn't have to honor it for the reasons given. They went bankrupt and therefor all debts had been discharged at that time. But it's a small effort to honor it anyway, showing a bit of goodwill.
