Seat 59A on CX 9 abreast 77W

Fri Mar 15, 2019 12:00 pm

Hi all,

Seat 59A and 59K are emergency exit seats with reduced legroom and no window on Cathay's 9 abreast 777's. Does anyone have a picture that shows to what extent legroom is reduced or has an idea of how much legroom the exit door takes up? I'm considering 59A for a HKG-SFO run. I don't mind the absence of a window as the flight is mostly at night and I'd like to get some shut eye. Also, with no one in front of me, I wont have to worry about them reclining into my space.

Thanks a lot!

I will preface by saying I have not flown on Cathay Pacific. However, at my carrier I avoid the exit rows on our widebodies. The seats are narrower due to the tray table, people congregate around the aisle due to the galley/toilets,and almost always the row is full because people like the legroom. The legroom at the window is not too hampered by the escape slide, unlike on the 747. I prefer the bulkhead rather than the exit row for legroom.
