How to download entire website?(

Sat Aug 12, 2000 7:54 am

I was wondering if there's a way to download the entire content
for off-line viewing.

I used the IE5.5 off-line browsing feature but it will only go to 3 pages deep, which
didn't help.

Or is it possible to buy a CD-ROM of the
entire website from the webmaster? If so,
how much is it?

Hi Bob,

Since photos are uploaded on a daily or even hourly basis, I would think it's impossible for the A.N administrators to make the database into a CD-ROM. It would never be up to date, and at the least, it wouldn't really pay off, considering all the additional work it would bring on.

Of course that's just my own idea about this. I seem to remember this topic having come up about a year ago, though. I believe Johan actually said something along the lines of what I just wrote.
I'm afraid to think of how much memory downloading the entire A.N site would take up... At over 100.000 photos, it must be quite a bit.

Best regards,

Johan doesn't own the copyrights to a lot of (if not all) of the pictures. Therefore he can't legally put it on to a cd-rom.

You can down load an entire site, with content (and not just links to content) using the full version of Adobe Acrobat 4; but I cannot imagine how long it would take, and how much disk space it would consume, to do this w/

On even a DSL, it'd be just darned near forever.

That's impossible! You'd surely get a "Download timed out" error.
