Kuwait And Saudia DC-10s

Mon Nov 19, 2001 7:28 am

Please post photos of these two leased beasts if you've got any. The Kuwait DC-10 was leased after the Gulf War. The Saudia aircraft should be older, in the green livery.

The Kuwait DC-10-30s were D-ADGO and G-NIUK. They operated for NUMEROUS airlines. Saudi operated 3 DC-10-15s, PP-OOO, V2-LER, and V2-SKY.

PP-OOO Transair

From 11.1975 - 02.01.1976 a DC-10-30 was leased to Saudi under N1301F.
02.01.1976: It was damaged beyond repair after overrunning runway in Istanbul (0 killed / 373 survived).

Hope this helps.

Lindy Field,

You need the book from the series "Great Airliners" on the DC-10... Not only is it an excellent book anyway, it has pics of both of these - PP-OOO in Saudia colours and G-NIUK for Kuwait (titles, not full colours). It should be readily available from aviation bookshops.
