Photo Info Needed

Sun Jun 16, 2002 8:58 am

While going through some old photos of aircraft at BWI i came across two that i could not identify here it goes:

1) B737-200 frieghter all white with a blue cheatline with a black line inside of it that runs from cockpit to aft and goes across the 9 windows.radome cover is black as is the part in front of the front cockpit windows.can only see part of the reg,all together its 5 numbers besides the N.it looks like it could be 900-- or 800--(i can only see the top part).

2)B707 N525EJ paint scheme from top:white tail and top to the windows then a blue line that goes over the windows and a smaller blue line that runs underneath the windows (the sun is hitting the plane but two lines are dark).on the tail there is a logo in a circle, top of circle is red bottom is blue with a white line going through it.

Both photos i believe are from the 1980's .

thanx in advance
Brian

Hi,

I have identified the second picture (the 707) :

It is a B707-355C (now converted to EC-137E).
MSN 19417 / LN 582

Delivered May 19th, 1967 to Executive Jet. The color scheme you describe is that of Executive Jet.

It then went to British Caledonian as G-AYEX. See picture :

Then it became N707HL (I don't know for which operator, although I know it also weared Air Bahama colors, and also the colors of an Icelandic airline).

The aircraft is now serving for the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command (since 1992).

Note : this is the only aircraft in the USAF which wears the same serial and construction numbers !
