Request For Cessna Citation Mustang

Mon Mar 01, 2004 9:38 am

Hi folks...
Until a few days ago, I've never heard of a Cessna Citation Mustang.
Can anyone with a photo of this bird, please post it? I'm very curious as to what a Citation Mustang looks like. Any numbers pertaining to performance would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance, and best regards.

There are computer renderings on the Cessna website, along with all the performance info.

I'm pretty sure it's still in testing and none are in production yet, but I could be wrong.

Interesting note: Someone told me that the engines on the citation mustang have a fan diameter of 20" (IIRC), less than 1,000 lbs of thrust each (compare to 90,000 of the GE90's on 777's), and they weigh something like 80lbs

Thanks for the heads-up, Corey. I'll check out Cessna's website & see what I can dig up. 80 pounds per engine??? No way that can be realistic. Regards.

I seem to remember the Allison Model 250 is used in the Hughes 500 helicopter and is quite small (around 140lbs), so the 80lb per engine weight shouldn't surprise you. Although the power output is more around 600 Bhp. But with modern composites they might be able to get the core down to 80lbs. Very cool looking bizjet!
