737 Vs. 777, Thought I Saw Them Here

Mon Apr 05, 2004 1:31 pm

I am looking for three photos that I saw posted here, which I found intriguing. I am not sure whether they are in the A.net database, and my searches so far have been unsuccessful.

1. Two British Airways aircraft, a 737 and a 777 parked right next to each other so it looked like the 737's nose was aligned with the 777's starboard engine. Obviously the 737 nose was in the foreground and the 777 body was in the background.

2. A photo of, if I remember correctly, two United Airlines aircraft, a 737 and a 777, landing on parallel runways, possibly at SFO. Both were still in the air and they were well aligned, with the 737 in the foreground and the 777 in the background.

3. The one which I remember the least detail: a 777 or 767 taxiing behind a 737, in which the wings were almost parallel to each other. I can't remember what airline or what airport this was at, but the alignment was similar to that seen in many BOS photos.

I can't seem to get the search functions to work with aircraft combinations. I either get a HUGE number of photos or a no-result.

Can anyone help me track these down?

I found #2, didn't realize it was at SFO until I was posting tonight, did another search...

For the third one, do you mean it was similar to this?

I assume you mean it is a head-on view of a 767/777 behind a 737.

After a little searching...

This looks like a likely candidate:

Thank you Q330, those are all candidates, but my memory is that there's one thats very closeup... however it wouldn't show the entire wingspan, then, and I remember seeing tip to tip of the larger jet. Also I think it was straight on the nose so you only saw the wings aligned, no side of the plane. And I think there was an MD-80 behind the larger aircraft.

Could you please tell me what search terms, if any, you used to turn up those photos?

What I'm doing here is, I'm retrieving photos I've seen before and creating a new photo album called "Alignments." I like lines.  Wink/being sarcastic

Thanks!

Dan -- That's a pretty cool photo. Must have been taken with a zoom from the IX-Grayton intersection, unless the guy was actually on airport property.  Smile But that's not the kind of alignment I'm really looking for -- check out the new photo album I started, and you'll see what I'm talking about.  Smile Thanks for your help.
