Would You Rather Fly On A Plane With N/c Or Old/c

Sat May 15, 2004 10:42 am

I was just on a southwest 737ng in old colors and all the other southwest planes were in new colors. Is there a difference in how nice the planes are and would you rather be on a plane with new colors or old colors. Thanks

I would rather fly a plane that's in the airline's new colors, just because it looks newer and probably more modern. Like I've seen SW new colors and old colors, and flying the cool new one would be more fun and a new experience, I guess

New colors, definitely. Oftentimes the new colors come with a new interior. Once you're inside the plane, the interior is what affects your comfort the most...

It depends on which is rarer. In the beginning I want the new one but as the new c/s becomes more common and the old c/s is being phases out then i want the old one.

Why does it matter? Its just for looks. I'm more worried about getting to my destination on-time and safely.

It in no way could ever make one single tiny iota of differance.

I would prefer one in the new scheme because it is either a new plane, or recently had a full D check, and therefore has been fully inspected recently. I am not implying that the old ones are bad or unsafe, but I prefer a freshly maintained plane. Of course I wouldn't be phased either way if either one showed up at my gate.

In general, I like to fly new very new schemes ( like UA, JL ...) But when flying Delta Air Lines or something, I would prefer the very old of the 3 latest colors!

It really doesn't matter. Once you're inside the plane that's all you see. New colors outside doesn't mean new colors inside....and the other way around. In March I flew from PHX-MCI-PHX on Southwest... both planes were old colors... one new interior, one old interior....
