Money No Object..Which Plane Do You Buy

Sat May 22, 2004 4:00 am

to ferry you around?

I'd be torn between the 757, L1011 and DC10. Why?

757 is the prettiest bird in the sky.

L1011 and DC10 because I grew up worshiping those aircraft. Thank God I got to ride in a DC10 to and from Caracas, and an L1011 to and from Hawaii.
Failure is not an option.....

The BBJ!

It just looks cool with those winglets and the interior doesn't look too bad either!

A custom 772. It would be as light as possible. It would also have a pair of the 773/ER's GE90-115B engines. The aircraft wouldn't just takeoff, it would launch. It would be painted bright red with orange and yellow flames flowing down the length of the fuselage...

An MD11 would be second, but the fact that it handles like a 25,000 gallon swimming pool is a real bummer.  Smile
Caution wake turbulence, you are following a heavy jet.

Money no object, eh? Hmmm... That means I get more than just one!!

#1 - A custom made "757BBJ" fitted with aux tanks to make a 7,500 nm range possible. Big enough in the inside. Yet, good runway performance to get you in just about any "commercial" airport in the world. And of course, winglets!  Laugh out loud

#2 - That's a thoughy. It would either be a Falcon 7X or a G450. Both excellent aircraft.

#3 - A Bell 427. Gotta have at least one whirly bird.  Laugh out loud

#4 - PC-12. Awesome.

#5 - Both a Fully restored Cessna 210 with a glass cockpit a la the new 172's and a Lancair IVP Propjet.

That'll do nicely.  Big thumbs up

As a patriotic Canadian I would go with the Bombardier Global Express for tooling around the world and for sport, a North American P-51 D Mustang.

Boeing 314, allows me to land almost anywhere in The Bahamas, is simply beautiful, and is a wonderful tribute to the world's greatest airline.

Either a 777-300ER in private configuration or a 747-400ER. Can't decide. Only problem would be that the number of aiports I could get into would be too small. I guess I'd compromise with a 757  Smile/happy/getting dizzy .

EDIT: Wow, I forgot that money was no object, buy all three plus a few helicopters. Or, a few of those nifly tiltrotor things from Bell/Agusta, forgot what they're called....ahhh, dare to dream!

Is it okay if I bend the rules a bit and go for two planes? Then I'd start of with a 744, with the upper deck entirely for myself. To hell with the wife and kid...that's DADDY'S space! Big grin

Buuuut...the 744 is a tad too large for some airports and or trips, so my second option would be a 737BBJ. Tiny, but yet spacious, and could take me anywhere I wanna.

Then again...a smaller jet would also be cool. Something like a Citation X or so...man, I feel like a kid on X-mas day!

Okay...time to snap out of it. Wake up and smell the coffee...and this coffee smells bad. Wait a second - that's my feet!  Nuts

Cheers!
Danny
