Flown The Very Same Aircraft Several Times?

Wed Jun 02, 2004 6:09 am

Hi,
since a couple of months, I am flying with LH between TXL and STR every 4 or 5 weeks: And the first 3 times, I always was on board of the very same plane: The LH 737-300 called "Merseburg": So this makes 6 times flying this plane (I was already getting bored!). All of a sudden, they changed the plane two months ago, so, know it is often the 737-300 "Neubrandenburg". Already 4 flights on this plane so far.
Do you have, too, your "very personal" plane you`re flying with again and again?

Bye,
MD 11

I used to travel heavily on the YYZ-YUL sector. I always flew CP. I have been on one of their 320's (now with AC) 4 times. Other aircraft types with at least 2 same-plane flights for me include CP 732, AC 742/762/763, WD 741, UA 732. I once flew on a Cayman 732 that I had previously flown on when it was with CP/

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Quite often fly Qantas (Jetconnect) Auckland to Wellington and back.
Not a very big fleet so ending up on a plane that I've previously flown is not unusual.
ZK-JNA is one example.
I even have a nickname for her.
I call her Jane.  Smile

When I worked for NJ, I flew on N130NJ and N132NJ on multiple trips. Of course, with free travel benefits on an airline with only 13 aircraft, that wasn't hard.

Also flew on the same 717 ICT-ATL in Sept. 2002 and again ATL-LGA and ATL-MCI in October of that same year. Don't have the reg. # for that bird anymore, though...

I fly BRU-EWR-FLL-EWR-FLL atleast 10 times per year with Continental - between Spring 2001 and September 2003, CO operated Brussels-Newark with the 762 and have been on each of CO's ten 762s several times. With respect the flights between Newark and Fort Lauderdale, that route is often operated by CO's 757-300s - until a few months ago, CO only had four 753s and I have been on each of the original four several times. Last month, I finally sampled one of the five 753s that were delivered earlier this year to CO.

CO has adjusted their schedules with 764s flying the overseas route and 752s on the FLL run, CO so I do not get to fly with my "favorites" as often.

Back in January fellow A.net member TriStar500 and I flew for a daytrip to Paris, we hoped to get the A 318 on the return flight but it was exactly the same plane (F-GFKN) that we already had on the flight from DUS to CDG in the morning  Angry. You can read the entire trip report by clicking here.

I also flew several times on every aircraft in the Germanwings fleet.

Hi MD 11dude,
Yeah, was happy to get this username back in ´99 (oh my god, is it already 5 years ago!? Time is running!) No better plane than the MD 11!!. Unfortunately, I had only two rides on a MD 11 (LTU, VASP).

With Avianca being our mainly airline, it is quite common to fly several times in the same aircraft  Sad
However, a couple years ago I flew BOG-LGW, BA 777 G-VIIB, and 3 weeks later LGW-BOG in the same plane.

If you fly PU you will find yourself becoming very familiar with their 3 B732s (CX-BON, BOO, BOP) and if you ever fly on their B733, B752 or B763ER, it will always be the same one... In fact, I wonder what percentage of PU's passengers have flown solely on their 732s, which I have flown on all my life...

Flew on Eastwind a couple of times from GSO-MCO, always the same plane out-and-back because at the time they only had ONE plane! It flew from Greensboro-Trenton-Greensboro-Orlando-Greensboro over and over and over. They eventually bought a second 737 just a few months before they ceased to exist.

If you fly DL transatlantic enough you cant help but fly on the same birds every so often. They only have 5x777's on the routes.

I did fly on Air South's DC-3 (they only had two, and one was the hangar queen) four or five times between ATL and St Simons.

I have also been on The Spirit of Delta 3 times in the last 15 or 20 years.

Ive flown on N756AS on the SEA-ANC-SEA routes before many times. 756AS seems to be a pretty popular aircraft on that route regardless of flight number.
