Will Planes Still Be As Common In 10-20 Years?

Sun Jun 06, 2004 6:33 am

Due to the current oil crisis, I'm wondering if planes will still be in great use in 10-20 years as they are today. Unless they invent a plane engine that can run with hydrogen, water, or watered-down fuel (someone please fill me in if any of these are currently being researched) then the high prices will make air travel as costly as in the 1940's. This would lead to no need for pilots and a possible economic crash.

Do you think this will happen?

7E7s - well if it's as good as Boeing claims, then I guess they stand with a chance.
