Which Is The Best Caribbean Airline?

Mon Jun 21, 2004 4:11 pm

I vote for BWIA. While personally I have never flown on them, I have a friend who is a flight attendant with them. Okay I might be a little biased, but I have honestly never heard a bad thing about BWIA.  Big thumbs up

Inbound,

I have never heard anything that I would say is truly "negative". I have heard that they are normally late taking-off, and my insider informant tells me that some of the onboard equipment leaves a bit to be desired.

But hey - none of that is truly negative.

My parents love to vacation in Trinidad. My Father loves Tobago and my Mother is more a fan of Trinidad  Laugh out loud And sometimes they do have there little arguments: Everything bad in Tobago comes from Trinidad / Everything bad in Trinidad comes from Tobago  Nuts LOL  Laugh out loud

But they love Bwia, and have always flown them to POS. I'm trying to talk my husband into vacationing in Trinidad  Smile I too want to fly BWIA to POS.

i flew LHR-MBJ with Air Jamaica and was reasonably impressed - the seats seemed very spacious (34" I believe) and the service was good. The food, however, was terrible and there were no PTVs and the Big Screen entertainment was poor. But the staff were very friendly and the flight was good.

On the way back, however, the check-in was a farce and they lost our bags for 3 days and we were delayed for 2 hours while they tried to close a door. Noone on board had much confidence that the door was properly sealed and there were a lot of nervous faces as we climbed!

You are said to be a good pilot when your take-off's equal your landings.

Well, what can I say Big grin. BWIA . I heard very good remarks on Air Jamaica and will definitely like to try them. Despite the trying times BWIA has gone through and one or two very disappointing flights I have had, I still will support my local airline. It's a humble sized airline which had exceptional mantx capability ,especially on the L1011. I am not being pig headed but it was always great to see the double hangar and many 3rd part contracts with visting airlines. Those were the good days for Bwee!!!  Crying Better days to come I hope.

Even more slick the c/s looked on those MD-83's. I just wish they will just throw in a few of them back into the current fleet. Big grin

I had heard bad things about BWIA. I then flew them and found the truth to be different from the rumour. I thought they were fine. Plenty of legroom for the long LHR-ANU flight, and friendly service. Basic inside, and the food wasn't great. Not the best in the world, but I liked them.

My takes are LIAT, Air Jamaica and then BWIA.

Although not a "Carribean Airline", Executive Airlines in Puerto Rico which run American Eagle out of SJU have a tremendous level of serice all over the Caribbean as we all know.
